I love this style of pants. I’ve looked closely at your photos and think you have a fit issue, not a style issue. The wrinkling across the hips suggest that you need more fabric here and your side seam (unless I’m seeing a pocket) don’t seem to sit straight down your sides. Once you get these issues right, they should drape the way they are intended.

Gail, I think you have hit the nail on the head there. There are some pockets and the side seam is meant to be slightly towards the front rather than straight down the sides, but something with the fit isn’t quite right. I am still trying to figure it out, but I’m struggling with the amount of fabric… There seems to be too much in the wrong places…

    Hi Chris,
The pants look lovely… Consider trimming the middle a bit, to better fit your body. Augument the waist?
The look is great, I think with a few adjustments on the crotch? Perhaps tape the side pockets until you work out the other details.
    Good luck.
Keep me posted. I would love to make something similar. Well this is Hawaii… too hot for pants.

      Josie,
somewhere on the web I saw a version of these pants where the legs where a lot slimmer and it looked great. So maybe that’s what I need to try. I will keep you posted sa to my success.
